If an SBS server runs out of space on its C: drive (or boot volume), you might be able to fix the server by clearing space and rebooting it but a typical side-effect of this is to have your CALs reset to the default number of 5. Microsoft has a support article for this issue http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888818 which really isnt very helpful because they advise you to restore the C:\Windows folder.
What they dont tell you is the good news – Windows automatically makes a backup of the license file and all you need to do is replace the license file with the backup.
